Aside from the location, the first thing that'll impress you here is the pool scene. Four swimming pools are set into curved terraces peppered with sunloungers and pergolas. Just the other side, you'll find the hotel's private stretch of beach that comes complete with a beach bar.

Inside, the reception is a sweeping scene of marble floors, impressive archways and high windows. Move further inside and you'll find simple, contemporary bedrooms that are kitted out with all the mod-cons. Think satellite TVs and individually controlled air-conditioning. Plus they all come with a large balcony.

As for the food, it's one of the main reasons people come here. The Al Diwan is the place to get buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner. There's show cooking and theme nights, too. And it's all served up in a stylish cream and sky blue setting, complete with Moorish-style arches and pillars – there's even a stained glass roof. Food is also served up in the beachside Morgana restaurant and bar. And it's here where you'll find a menu dedicated to seafood.

There are lots of extras here, too. Cue an extensive entertainment programme that spans both day and night, a kids' club, and a hotel shuttle bus that whisks you off to the town of El Quseir. What's more, there's a Wellness Centre complete with sauna, whirlpool and hammam.
