If you want to escape somewhere in a world of its own, look no further than Kenya's leading 'all inclusive' hotel. Sitting proudly on the shore of Diani Beach, the Baobab is surrounded by jungle-like forest, nodding palm trees and tropical flowers in every colour of the rainbow. And, of course, the unmistakable Kenyan Baobab trees.
Colourfully decorated in an exotic African-style, you'll find traditional touches all over the place, like the Lamu beds in the lobby and authentic art pieces. Even the staff have a tropical touch by wearing fresh flowers in their hair.
When it comes to entertainment, you get something a little bit different here. Of course, you can spend a few hours by the pool simply soaking up the sun – but there's so much more to explore. Take a walk along the sun-dappled paths of Baobab Nature Park, keeping your eyes peeled for exotic birds, monkeys and harmless snakes. Or for something really exciting, try your hand at archery, shooting or windsurfing. The evening entertainment is dubbed as the best entertainment in the Mombasa area - there are nightly shows with traditional dancing, acrobatics and a variety of themed shows.
One of the jewels in this hotel's rather impressive crown is the Afya Bora Wellness Centre and Spa. This magical spa has got plenty in the way of massages, beauty therapy, and all manner of wraps and peels. You can spend the day hopping from treatment to treatment, which are individually housed in thatch roofed huts. And if you can't bear to break your fitness routine while you're away, there's a fully-equipped gym, too.
And last, but by no means least, there's the to-die-for food. Trust us, you're in for a real culinary extravaganza. The a la carte Marhaba has a seafood menu to die for, while the buffet-style Karibu offers succulent dishes from around the world.
So for the ultimate exotic African escape, look no further than the hotel that has it all.
