The Casa Marina Beach has the Caribbean vibe down to a T. It's bright, colourful and totally laid-back. A roomy complex cocooned by palm trees and lush tropical plants, the friendly staff welcome you here with a tropical fruit drink in the contemporary-looking lobby. You'll then be shown to your spacious rooms with two queen sized beds, which are decked out in snazzy shades of orange, yellow and jade to get you into the holiday spirit. Once you're all unpacked – the hotel's your oyster. At the heart of the hotel there are two pools where you can enjoy the sunshine. The main lagoon-style pool is sunk into a stone-paved patio and is flanked by flower beds, banana trees and swishing palms. And you'll also find a tranquil heart-shaped pool with a small circular kids' pool nearby, which is a great spot for families. Of course, you might prefer to hit the beach. And you won't have to go far because the hotel's snuggled right up against the sea. This stretch of coastline is known as Little Beach – with soft sand and almost luminous turquoise seas. There's also a decked area with a thatched beach bar, so you won't have to go far for ice-cold drinks. Lazy days aside, there's plenty going on here to keep the whole family entertained. Enjoy a fast-paced game of volleyball. Or how about giving scuba diving a whirl? There are introductory lessons in the pool. Plus with the 'Kiko Centre' slap bang between the two pools, you could never be bored. This open-air terrace overlooking the sea is filled with pool tables, football tables and has a television. And if you fancy a stroll, Sosua town is on your doorstep with a hive of shops for you to head in and out of. However you work up an appetite, there's certainly plenty of choice at the Casa Marina Beach. Try one of the a la carte restaurants such as 'Seascapes' which serves seafood on the beach or go Italian at 'Luigi's'. Or pile up your plate at 'El Batey' the main buffet restaurant where you can eat to the soothing sound of the waves. Oh, and one last thing, don't forget you can use all the facilities at the neighbouring sister hotel Casa Marina Reef. A real two-for-one treat.
