Salina Bay, about 19 kilometres from Valletta, is a quiet and secluded area on the outskirts of St Paul's Bay: a string of closely-knit neighbouring resorts that includes bustling Bugibba and Qawra. Salina Bay's name comes from the local salt pans which can occasionally be smelt on the onshore breeze.
