An introduction to Villa Las Palmeras
In the heart of the Frigiliana mountains, this off-the-beaten-track villa is framed by mango groves, and cactus and palm-filled gardens. What's more, it's down a country track with only a couple of neighbouring villas, so blissful seclusion comes as standard.
The views up here take some beating, but the villa itself does its best to impress, too. Step inside and you'll find an open-plan living-come-dining room. Whitewashed walls are given an injection of colour with cobalt-blue ceilings and flagstone floors. Add a sofa, a corner fireplace and a satellite TV and you've got a cosy little hideaway. As for the two bedrooms, they've been kept stylishly simple. Both the double and twin come with terracotta floors, white walls and shuttered windows, while the double gets the added benefit of an ensuite bathroom.
Outside, the gardens are nothing short of lovely. A manicured lawn sweeps around a curvy swimming pool, and there's a sun terrace with sunbeds and a barbecue. Factor in a shaded veranda with outdoor furniture, and you'll find it hard to tear yourself away.
Lastly, in terms of location, this place is perfect if you like your holidays away from it all. That said, a five to ten-minute drive will get you to Frigiliana town, while Nerja beach is just a 15-minute drive away.
