An introduction to Hotel Caribe
With its white sands, lagoon pools and palm trees, it looks like the Hotel Caribe has been airlifted from Cancun and dropped just short of the Costa Dorada coastline. Think man-made beaches freckled with thatched parasols. Lake-sized pools surrounded by rock formations. And a spacious sun terrace lined with sunbeds. It's certainly got the looks. Not to mention a poolside bar thrown in for good measure.
Tropical shores aside, the hotel itself is very impressive. Take the bedrooms. Sitting at the modern end of the design spectrum, they've kept things simple with blue-on-blue colour scheme. Cue sky blue walls, blueberry sofas and baby blue bed linen, broken up by dark wood furniture and contemporary cream lamp shades. Plus there are nice touches like satellite TV and air-conditioning.
As far as upgrades go, the club rooms are the creme de la creme. The set-up is similar to the standard rooms but with added extras like a hydro-massage bath tub, daily papers, DVD player and a complimentary a la carte breakfast. And on top of that, all club room guests get exclusive use of the concierge service, restaurant and private pool. Known as the Club San Juan, it's a cut above the rest.
On the food front, this place goes all out. At the Buffet Bohio, Mediterranean and international buffet food is in no short supply. At La Piazza, it's all about pizza and pasta. And Puerto Viejo puts the Far East through its paces with Chinese, Japanese, Thai and Indian on the menu.

I have recently come back from this beautiful hotel and i must say im well travelled and this was extreme luxury.
