An introduction to Aparthotel Playa Flamingo
Families couldn't pick a more perfect holiday stop than the Flamingo. Everything you could want is on the doorstep. There's direct access to the beach, and shops, bars and restaurants are just a short walk away at Playa Blanca harbour. There are even local ferries to Fuerteventura from here if you fancy a change of scene.
But with so much to do at the Flamingo, there's no need to wander far. As part of Thomson's FamilyClub Xtra collection, the entertainment for children is out of this world. Football academies, stage schools, kids' clubs – it's got the lot. And on top of all this, family games like giant Jenga are organised through the day. There's a club for teens and adults will be quite at home too, with 5-a-side football and tennis.
Of course, much of the daytime action takes place at the two lagoon-like swimming pools. Set in smart terraces, they're bordered by sun beds, parasols and there's also a bar with thatched umbrellas. For kids, there's a separate circular pool and an adventure playground. The Flamingo's grounds are well worth a mention, too. Attractive and well-kept, they're dotted with rustling palm trees and pretty flower beds.
In terms of look and feel, the Flamingo Beach is a low-rise, whitewashed, contemporary building. The lobby is light and spacious with polished floors and curved sofas. Likewise, the apartments sit at the modern end of the design spectrum and are well-equipped with kitchenettes, roomy lounges and a private balcony or terrace. Here at the Flamingo Beach resort, you have the benefit of great sized apartments combined with all the facilities of a hotel - perfect! On the food front there are three restaurants, two of which look over the beach. El Duque grill serves sizzling steaks and delicous local dishes while the Beach Club dishes up mouthwatering pizzas amongst other things.
