Ballroom dancing holidays
The fairly loose term 'ballroom dancing' traditionally referred to any form of social partner dancing, particularly among the elite. Today, it is a general way to describe the likes of the waltz, tango, slow foxtrot and quickstep. The term is also used for some Latin American dances, such as the samba, rumba and jive.
This form of dancing is enjoyed the world over, by all ages and by all abilities - and you don't have to be among the elite to enjoy it now!
The more serious dancers out there will know that in a competition environment, performers are judged on the likes of connection, frame, posture, speed and body alignment. But the rest of us will be happy in the knowledge that there's also plenty of social ballroom dancing out there.
